The identification and pathogenicity of Fusarium oxysporum causing acacia seedling wilt disease

چکیده

Abstract Wilt disease with unknown etiology causes mass mortality in commercial Acacia mangium nurseries South Sumatra. This pathogen induces symptoms of chlorosis the lower leaves and develops into shoots; subsequently, plants wither die. research identifies pathogenic species causing this wilt to assess its pathogenicity or virulence. Fifteen isolates Fusarium oxysporum varying colony sizes color pigments were recovered from symptomatic A. seedlings. The test showed that all could infect severity reaching 80%, was verified as vascular disease. Koch’s postulate by re-isolating F. isolates. confirmed observing morphological characters elongation factor 1-α (tef1-α) gene sequences .

The Effect of Plant Extracts on the Growth of Wilt Causing Fungi Fusarium oxysporum

Antifungal potential of aqueous extracts of forty plants of different families were tested against Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. ciceri causal agent of wilting of chick pea. Among forty plant species tested aqueous extract of Chenopodium ambrosioides has recorded significant antifungal activity against the test fungi. Solvent extracts viz. petroleum ether, benzene, chloroform, and methanol and ethan...

Dynamics of Colonization and Expression of Pathogenicity Related Genes in Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. ciceri during Chickpea Vascular Wilt Disease Progression

Fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. ciceri (Foc) is a constant threat to chickpea productivity in several parts of the world. Understanding the molecular basis of chickpea-Foc interaction is necessary to improve chickpea resistance to Foc and thereby the productivity of chickpea. We transformed Foc race 2 using green fluorescent protein (GFP) gene and used it to characterize pathog...

Genome and Transcriptome Analysis of the Fungal Pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense Causing Banana Vascular Wilt Disease

BACKGROUND The asexual fungus Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (Foc) causing vascular wilt disease is one of the most devastating pathogens of banana (Musa spp.). To understand the molecular underpinning of pathogenicity in Foc, the genomes and transcriptomes of two Foc isolates were sequenced. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS Genome analysis revealed that the genome structures of race 1 and r...
